Constructor Detail

MagnitudeField

public MagnitudeField(boolean showUnitsField,
                      java.lang.String... units)

Creates a new MagnitudeField. The field consists in a JSpinner to show the value of a magnitude and a JComboBox to list the available units. The number format based on the default locale is used to format the value. The field has a default value of 0.0 with the first units specified.

Parameters:

showUnitsField - whether to show the units combo box. If false, the methods getUnitsField() can be used to add the units combo box to another Swing container.

units - array of valid units for this field

MagnitudeField

public MagnitudeField(java.text.DecimalFormat format,
                      boolean showUnitsField,
                      java.lang.String... units)

Creates a new MagnitudeField. The field consists in a JSpinner to show the value of a magnitude and a JComboBox to list the available units. The field has a default value of 0.0 with the first units specified.

getUnitsField

Returns the component for the units field. This method is designed to allow the user to separately add the units field to the layout.

Returns:

component for the units field

getValue

public Magnitude getValue()

Returns the last valid magnitude defined by the value and units selected. Based on the editing policy of the JFormattedTextField this may not return the current value. The currently edited value can be obtained by invoking commitEdit followed by getValue.

last valid value
